Why this orientation exists
Let the format become familiar before it needs to measure your knowledge.
The Next Generation NCLEX uses case studies and varied response formats to measure clinical judgment. Learning the controls separately can reduce avoidable uncertainty while you focus on the client and the nursing decision in front of you.
These examples teach interaction patterns and clinical reasoning. They are not a prediction of specific NCLEX questions and do not produce a readiness score.

Clinical Judgment Measurement Model
Move through six connected cognitive skills from recognizing relevant cues to evaluating outcomes.

Adult With Sudden Confusion and Diaphoresis
An adult with type 1 diabetes is awake and can swallow. The client took rapid-acting insulin before breakfast but ate only a few bites. The client is now shaky, diaphoretic, and confused.

Identify relevant and important information from the client history, assessment, vital signs, laboratory results, and other available sources.
